French "Ersatz" Sling

(emergency, impromptu, last ditch type sling)

Original WW1 Wartime made French? Rifle sling. This came off a M93 Lebel Rifle in my collection. Canvas strap for the most part in good shape showing wear and age. Metal parts show some rust.  Leather parts still in good shape and soft enough to use.  Looks like it has 3 half circles or half of numbers on the strap, cannot make out.
